Meet the masterminds behind HabsMUN 2026.

Our Sec Gens are the masterminds behind HabsMUN. Here, you can read a bit more about them and attach a face to a name before you come to the conference. It is often said that the eyes are the window to the soul, but that’s a bit useless if a Sec Gen seems to be wearing sunglasses…

Alexander Wasserstein

WHEN AND WHY DID YOU JOIN HABSMUN?

I started attending MUN as soon as I joined the school, in Year 9. I was interested in international relations. It didn’t take much convincing!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE HABSMUN MEMORY?

Keshav’s (best Sec Gen in 2023) opening ceremony speeches. Simply legendary.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE COMMITTEE?

Probably Special Commission. I represented Afghanistan there in year 10 and enjoyed tackling the intricate diplomatic issues that it confronts.

DO YOU HAVE A SECRET TALENT?

I can play piano (sort of) and solve a Rubix Cube (fairly slowly). Not at the same time though.

Sebastian Maltz

Definitely Mr Pedroz’s 2025 bohemian rhapsody recital.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE COMMITTEE?

Definitely DISEC, being the committee, I chose for my first ever HabsMUN in 2022, it has a special place in my heart.

WHEN AND WHY DID YOU JOIN HABSMUN?

I first went to HabsMUN in year 10. I had loved going to MUN club and debating competitions previously. It looked like it would be a lot of fun!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE HABSMUN MEMORY?

The committee I chaired winning the inter-committee karaoke competition – definitely worth using up precious committee time to practise for!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE COMMITTEE?

SPECPOL – it was the first committee I was a part of, so will always have a special place in my heart.

DO YOU HAVE A SECRET TALENT?

I can raise one eyebrow, say the alphabet backwards and hold a plank for a really long time… none of them are that exciting!

Jemima Copley, Year 12 Student and Head of HabsMUN Journalism
